Vegetative cells globose, compressed at the poles, dark blue-green in colour, with aerotopes, 8.012.0 μm in diameter; apical cells undifferentiated. Heterocytes spherical or slightly compressed at the poles, 9.015.0 μm in diameter. Akinetes intercalary, solitary or in pairs, oval to cylindrical, slightly curved and remote from the heterocytes, 14.040.0 μm long × 13.525.0 μm broad.</paragraph>
