Tergites 2–5, but especially 3 and 4 pale and often reddish; other tergites brown with a dark spot offcentre from medial line (2 per segment). Tergites with short robust setae present, similar setae present on hind margin of tergite and tergite X. Dark ‘V’ shaped pattern on tergite X, narrowing posteriorly and widening into a solid dark patch. Gills brownish-yellow. Cerci as long as abdomen, segments elongate by 8th segment and elongating rapidly to become very thin and narrow. Paraprocts long approx. 2 times basal width with straight margins.
