Size rather large, but width of horse-shoe
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873F364F4908975F424" bold="true" box="[3271,3677,2861,2956]" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">moderate</emphasis>
only. Skull large and broad, with long tooth-rows, but
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873F280F42A8971F45E" bold="true" box="[3363,3673,2967,3062]" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">narrow</emphasis>
nasal swellings.
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873FCE0F3D283A0F366" box="[835,1160,3183,3278]" italics="true" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">Details.</emphasis>
Compared with the western races: The large size, combined with the short tail, will, in most cases, make it readily distinguishable. The skull is, almost invariably, larger, the
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873F2F6F2F8848EF1BE" bold="true" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">toothrows</emphasis>
longer.
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873FCE8F1A483CEF1D0" box="[843,1254,3609,3704]" italics="true" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">Dentition</emphasis>
(4 skulls). In none of the skulls examined could I find any trace of the lower p3, although they all have the teeth
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873F350F1388978F14C" bold="true" box="[3315,3664,3717,3812]" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">unworn</emphasis>
. In two skulls p2 is present, in two completely wanting. Cingula of the upper canine and p1 always overlapping.
<emphasis id="B919EAE9FFCEA873F3C0F0E68032EF8C" italics="true" pageId="37" pageNumber="112">This is the highest stage of dentition</emphasis>
in any race of
