The original description did not include an illustration, and one set of shell measurements was given. Later,
<bibRefCitation id="B7E9ECCEBD227D1E73E4A2CA59232B2E" pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Reeve (1862)</bibRefCitation>
re-published the description and figured a shell from the Cuming collection. There is one lot from the Cuming collection containing three specimens collected by Mr. Fortune with an original label in
<normalizedToken id="8A7C9771DB15EAABF3BF80CFB3A33289" originalValue="Pfeiffers">Pfeiffer's</normalizedToken>
handwriting stating the species name and collection locality. The specimen that most closely matches the measurements given in the original description and the illustration in
<bibRefCitation id="196FF0062E73000FF7696E69C42B82BA" pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Reeve (1862)</bibRefCitation>
is figured herein (Fig. 4A).
