<paragraph id="8BB636C7FFE54105FF39FC77CDA9FC2B" blockId="6.[151,684,970,1669]" lastBlockId="6.[714,1247,170,1669]" pageId="6" pageNumber="391">Carapace glabre, convexe, environ 1,9 fois plus large que longue, couverte de granules nettement plus développés en avant des crêtes épibranchiales, ornée de crêtes transversales de granules et de saillies granuleuses plus ou moins en forme de dents pointues. Les crêtes transversales sont au nombre de quatre: une sur chaque région épibranchiale et deux, côte à côte, sur la région métagastrique. Les saillies granuleuses se trouvent sur la région épigastrique (deux côte à côte), sur la région protogastrique (quatre, disposées suivant une ligne transversale, sur la partie postérieure) et sur la partie interne des régions branchiales (trois sur chaque région disposées suivant une ligne légèrement oblique par rapport à l’axe de la carapace et d’une taille nettement décroissante de l’avant vers l’arrière). Deux saillies, moins marquées, s’observent également sur la partie antérieure de la région cardiaque. Le front dépasse les dents orbitaires internes et est découpé en quatre dents triangulaires; les internes sont un peu plus pointues que les externes qui sont un peu plus larges à leur base; les internes sont légèrement plus proches l’une de l’autre que les externes. Les dents orbitaires externes et internes sont de taille voisine, plus petites que les dents frontales. En arrière des dents orbitaires externes, chaque bord antérolatéral de la carapace est découpé en huit dents; les sept premières sont triangulaires avec un bord antérieur droit et un bord postérieur légèrement convexe; elles sont de taille légèrement variable, la dent 7 étant la plus petite et la plus aiguë; la dent 8, en forme de longue pointe très aiguë, dirigée latéralement et très légèrement vers l’arrière, est beaucoup plus grande que toutes les autres; elle est environ cinq fois plus longue que la septième. Le bord postérieur de la carapace est égal au quart de la largeur de celle-ci; ses extrémités portent une forte épine dirigée du côté externe, obliquement vers le haut. La face ventrale de la carapace porte une crête stridulante s’étendant un peu en retrait des bases des dents 1 à 6, incluse et formée d’environ 26 stries dont la longueur diminue de la dent 1 à la dent 6.</paragraph>

par le front dont les lobes sont peu pointus et dont les externes sont beaucoup plus larges que les internes, par les dents antérolatérales de la carapace dont les trois premières (lobe orbitaire externe exclu) sont à sommet arrondi tandis que les suivantes sont très aiguës, la dernière, qui n’est que deux fois plus longue que l’avant-dernière, étant dirigée nettement antérolatéralement (au lieu de légèrement postérolatéralement). On peut ajouter aussi, la présence d’une crête transversale cardiaque et le fait que les stries de la face supérieure du mérus des chélipèdes sont entières (au lieu d’être divisées en deux). Le pléopode est inconnu. Il faut souhaiter que d’autres spécimens de cette espèce, de plus grande taille, soient capturés à Hawaii afin que ses caractères puissent être mieux définis. Néanmoins, il est très vraisemblable que
