The recent discovery of

</taxonomicName>
is the only South American calanoid known from
<collectingCountry id="F3377637DF1CFF8DC076FCF1FE2A5D19" box="[310,400,869,895]" name="Mexico" pageId="13" pageNumber="14">Mexico</collectingCountry>
(Gutiérrez-Aguirre &amp; Suárez-Morales 2000). Barcodes highlighted a possible cryptic species distributed more to the north than the first and subsequent records, in the Gulf coastal plateau.
