(silverweed) is a plant belonging to the Tibetan natural medicine traditions and it also consumed as food in many areas of

. Polysaccharides from this plant have been reported to exert several beneficial effects for humans (

). In 2013 Zhao and coworkers obtained a library of 17 Se-P samples with a Se content ranging from

/g. All these polymers were assayed
<emphasis id="B9588266FF91FF82FC91D386FCB235CA" bold="true" box="[818,882,1247,1266]" italics="true" pageId="5" pageNumber="6">in vitro</emphasis>
for their capacity to scavenge DPPH, hydroxyl, and superoxide radicals, for their metal chelating ability and reducing power. The radicals scavenging and reducing power effects were strictly depending on the Se content, although recorded effects were much less than those obtained with ascorbic acid and BHT used as controls. Below concentrations of
