. Male nearly black, only scutellar spines brownish yellow, wings hyaline, halter yellowish green, legs partly yellow. Except abdomen, body with dense (male) or sparse (female) black hairs. Female frons with a pair of broad longitudinal brick red vittae, upper postocular band brick red. Abdomen in both sexes without any spots.

) elliptical in frontal view (1.5 times broader than high), semicircular and slightly broader than thorax in dorsal view, and 1.2 times longer than high in profile. Wholly black, with dense black long hairs. Ocellar tubercle about 1.5 times as long as broad; eyes contiguous, dark brown, with dense black hairs; frons and face slightly protuberant, shining black, with long black hairs, distinctly punctated. Proboscis pale brownish yellow and with yellow hairs. Antenna (

) with scape and pedicel dark brown and black haired; scape short cylindrical, about as long as broad; pedicel cup-shaped, 1.5 times as long as scape, as long as maximal width; flagellum brick red to dark, basal 4 flagellomeres forming a long oval complex, with white short tomentum, long dark to black arista 1.2 times as long as remainder of antenna.

Wing membrane pale brownish, veins and stigma slightly darker; R4 is present. Legs mostly black, with short black hairs, basal parts of femora and both ends of all tibiae brownish yellow; fore tarsi dark brown, mid and hind tarsi brownish yellow. Halter yellowish green.

Similar to male except as follows: Eyes widely separated, postocular rim with brick red vitta on the posterior margin, which from lateral margin of ocellar tubercle to lower occiput, but lower half covered white tomentum; frons with a pair of broad brick red longitudinal vittae, its length about as 3/4 of distance between occelar tubercle to antenna, about as 1/4 of frontal width; margin of face along eyes with a white tomentum vitta (

The species is named after the

locality, “qian” is a short expression for Guizhou province.

) tripartite, lateral lobes vaulted spindle-shape, distinctly shorter than medial lobe; medial lobe depressed near apex, and with a distinct at proximal end. But other species of the genus general with comparatively shorter or sparser hairs and sometimes parts are bare on head, hairs on thorax and abdomen mainly decumbent; genital capsule appropriately slippery; aedeagal comlpex with 2 or 3 nearly same columnar lobes. In addition, female frons of this speices with a pair of large brick red longitudinal vittae, but other species general with yellow vittae or small yellow or reddish brown spots.
