It is very common in the central and southwest districts of Victoria; spectacularly so in and around Halls Gap in the Grampians. Elsewhere in Victoria it is known from the Mornington Peninsula and in west Gippsland, where its range contacts or intersects the putatively conspecific Eastern Race. It is the only Jack-jumper species known from South Australia.
