The advertisement call of the species has been described by Glaw
<emphasis id="B940EAF0FFB4C8110BB9F89DFBD4E12A" box="[1007,1064,1861,1885]" italics="true" pageId="15" pageNumber="416">et al.</emphasis>
(1998) from recordings obtained in 1995 from Kirindy. Our analysis of calls recorded by J. Glos at the same locality in 2001 (Vences
<emphasis id="B940EAF0FFB4C8110D4CF8B1FAA8E1F6" box="[1306,1364,1897,1921]" italics="true" pageId="15" pageNumber="416">et al.</emphasis>
2006: CD1/Track1) generally confirmed the call characters previously reported. The call consists of a series of pulsed notes repeated at somewhat irregular intervals (

). Notes are composed of 712 well-separated pulses emitted with increasing repetition rate from beginning towards the end of the note. Slight differences among recordings are apparent in distinctly longer inter-note intervals (170319 vs. 31133 ms) in the more recent recordings, and might be the result of differences in calling motivation and/or temperature (temperature not available for 2001 recordings). Furthermore, our analysis revealed an amplitude modulation within notes (

, with amplitude increasing towards the middle of the note and decreasing again towards its end. This amplitude modulation is not evident from the former call description (Glaw
<emphasis id="B940EAF0FFABC80E0D40FEF2FAB1E737" box="[1302,1357,296,320]" italics="true" pageId="16" pageNumber="417">et al.</emphasis>
1998), likely due to the processing/filtering of the poor-quality recording, as in the oscillogram figured in Glaw
<emphasis id="B940EAF0FFABC80E0D37FE96FA60E713" box="[1377,1436,332,356]" italics="true" pageId="16" pageNumber="417">et al.</emphasis>
(1998) the amplitude appears to be cut off at a certain level. For call parameters of the 2001 recording see Table 2.
