is accurate. When comparing the illustration of the original description with our specimens, we found no indications for specific differences. Moreover, several of the studied samples consisted of both males and females found and captured together, with adds even more strength to this hypothesis.

) the original photograph that illustrated the original description, which helped to locate similar specimens from the same region. We found the diagnostic characters on which the original description relied to be highly variable. The author itself (p 54) stated that he was not able to access more specimens in addition to the 
<typeStatus id="54898852FFC297507B57FF22D7B9FF0D" box="[1331,1432,151,176]" pageId="6" pageNumber="287" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
, and he decided to nominate it a subspecies (instead of a nominal species) because Mello-Leitão (in litt.) suggested that the specimen was simply a variation of
