). — Corps le plus souvent massif avec des péréiopodes relativement courts et forts. Tégument épais, dur et pubescent, surtout chez les espèces côtières. Rostre court ne dépassant pas le pédoncule antennulaire, avec des dents dorsales et distales, sans dents ventrales, à l’exception parfois d’une subdistale. Carapace sans épines postorbitaire et ptérygostomienne, avec ou non une épine infra-orbitaire, avec une épine hépatique. Sillon cervical absent (ou alors à peine esquissé).
