. This species differs from other species of the genus in having the apex of the aedeagal shaft distinctly tapered beyond the preapical processes in posterior view and the preapical processes relatively long.

. A whole-body DNA extraction procedure was performed on the
<typeStatus id="754E7D85FFE4BC1AC8BDF332CE050F1B" box="[987,1085,258,284]" pageId="9" pageNumber="584" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
specimen of this species before it was recognized as a new species. The procedure removed most of the pigment from the exoskeleton such that the natural coloration and wing venation cannot be described. The aedeagus was also broken during the extraction procedure but the parts of the male terminalia are intact and undistorted. DNA sequences from this species are being incorporated into a large-scale phylogenetic analysis of
