Large, robust species. General color dark brown to dark yellow, black markings on crown, pronotum and mesonotum, two broad transverse, translucent bands on middle of forewings, veins marked with small tannish spots (

); face dark yellow, clypeus with long black, lateral band on each side of median longitudinal carina and on lateral margins; clypellus with black basal band on each side of medial inflated ridged; lora black; gena black in basal half, irregular shaped, longitudinal black band under each eye. Head narrower than pronotum, anterior margin broadly rounded; crown broader than width of eyes, produced distally slightly less than ¼ entire median length, lateral margins nearly parallel, disk flat; eyes large, elongate ovoid; pronotum large, longer than median length of crown, surface bullated; mesonotum large, about twice as long as pronotum; forewings long, broad, 3 anteapical cells present, outer one closed; clypeus long, broad, lateral margins nearly parallel, median longitudinal carina very prominent; clypeus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, inflated medially from base to near apes, apex flared apically.
