The species is named after the american entomologist Joseph Cicero, whose contribution to firefly research is admirable.

) Antennomeres densely and uniformly hairy. Scape nearly twice as long as pedicel, constrained on basal half, enlarging to apex. Pedicel as long as wide. Antennomere III longer than pedicel; IIIIX laterally compressed, enlarging towards their apices; IIIVI slightly decrease in length; VIIIX subequal in length to VI; X and XI connate; X + XI longer than IX. Maxillary palpomeres cylindrical, IIII transverse, I and III subequal and shorter than II; IV acuminate and membranous at apex, longer than the sum of II and III.

(FIGS 4,7) Anterior margin of pronotum with two feebly para-sagital sinuosities. Prosternum medially glabrous, with many lateral bristles. Meso-scutellum sub-pentagonal, with dense and deep punctures; lateral margins convergent posteriad, posterior margin emarginate; with sparse bristles in the anterior region of the punctures. Hypomeron with deep punctures, except for the central region. Mesosternum projecting and rounded posteriad.
