Numerous scales, from the " bad lands " of Eed Deer river, are apparently not distinguishable from those described by Leidy under the name

The lozenge-shaped, enamelled outer surface is smooth and shiny, with generally a few small, puncture or pit-like depressions scattered toward the centre; a few observed edge. Length of specimen figured 18-5 growth lines are generally parallel to its mm., greatest thickness 3*0 mm.</paragraph>
