We suggest that the absence of a tibial seta on leg II not be regarded as an assumed characteristic, or the only possibility in eriophyoid leg chaetotaxy, when describing a new taxon. Indeed, we wonder whether the occasional presence of this seta may have been overlooked in some previous descriptions. This attribute should also be considered in future phylogenetic studies of the group.
