). Male calls at sunset, during about one hour. After each call, the male flies to another calling place. Each call is about 14 to 17 seconds long and composed of 13 to 16 phrases. Phrase duration and amplitude progressively decrease during the call. Each phrase consists of a long echeme composed of a regular succession of pulses emitted at a rate of about 130 per second, followed by a single echeme emitted 0.1 second later. All phrases cover frequencies from 2 to 14.5 kHz, with the main energy between 5 and 7 kHz and a peak amplitude at 6 kHz.
