The species is similar to

This species is considered cosmopolitan in temperate to tropical waters. In the West Pacific it is found from

and is common in South

Sea, from South
<collectingCountry id="89C601B7FF8AAB15FB12F9130B76F883" box="[1219,1314,1788,1812]" name="Vietnam" pageId="1" pageNumber="42">Vietnam</collectingCountry>
to Hainan Island. Usually collected from the intertidal it has also been reported from depths of up to
