was collected off Alacranes Reef,

; Campeche Bank, Campeche; San Fernando River, Tamaulipas; at 245.6-590.0 m. Although, it was most abundant in sector SSW (89.7%; 327.5-590.0 m), mainly in summer (51.7%; 394.5-455.8 m). Sex ratio throughout seasons was similar and close to the expected proportion 1:1. The mean CL in ovigerous females was 18.7 mm, 18.1 mm for males and 14.1 mm for females. The ovigerous females (31.09% of the total collected) occurred in spring, summer, and autumn, but the maximum number was found in summer. Only one male was infested with a rhizocephalan parasite (CL = 18.9 mm). The material collected represents the first record in the sector SSW.
