In the present study, partial molecular sequences (726-746 bp) of the 28S rRNA gene (D1-D3) of

are provided for the
<normalizedToken originalValue="first">first</normalizedToken>
time. These sequences shows that
<taxonomicName lsidName="Hal. striatohamus" pageId="0" pageNumber="125" rank="species" species="striatohamus">Hal. striatohamus</taxonomicName>
collected from Campeche is a sister species of the clade containing
<taxonomicName lsidName="Hal. guttati" pageId="0" pageNumber="125" rank="species" species="guttati">Hal. guttati</taxonomicName>
and
<taxonomicName class="Monogenea" family="Ancyrocephalidae" genus="Haliotrematoides" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Haliotrematoides spinatus" order="Dactylogyridea" pageId="0" pageNumber="125" phylum="Platyhelminthes" rank="species" species="spinatus">Haliotrematoides spinatus</taxonomicName>
Kritsky &amp; Mendoza-Franco, 2009 (see Figure 1) from
