was described based on three specimens collected by C. Lamberton in Rogez (now called Andekaleka; fide PƟΓΗΕΜUඌ &amp; AΝĐΕRඌΕΝ 2015) in the southern part of
<collectingRegion id="49912FEEFFBF6855FED74C6FFDD0FC56" box="[373,595,876,899]" inferredBySuffix="true" pageId="5" pageNumber="424">Taomasina Province</collectingRegion>
. The excellent, detailed illustrations of the apterous male provided by HƟΒΕΑΝĐΤ (1951) allow a safe species identification. We have also studied three large series of this species from
<collectingRegion id="49912FEEFFBF6855FF354CEFFE0BFBD6" box="[151,392,1004,1027]" country="Madagascar" name="Fianarantsoa" pageId="5" pageNumber="424">Fianarantsoa Province</collectingRegion>
for comparison (identification of one series has been confirmed by direct comparison with the
<typeStatus id="54EE5FAEFFBF6855FF1C4B2FFE98FB96" box="[190,283,1068,1091]" pageId="5" pageNumber="424" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
by the first author in the past).

The specimens from Nosy Boraha are variable in size; leg colour is slightly darker than described for the

. Small males (
