The specimens from Taiwan are in a good agreement with description of the Oriental
<taxonomicName class="Arachnida" family="Hygrobatidae" genus="Hygrobates" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Hygrobates hamatus" order="Trombidiformes" pageId="8" pageNumber="73" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="hamatus">Hygrobates hamatus</taxonomicName>
. This species is very similar to
<taxonomicName class="Arachnida" family="Hygrobatidae" genus="Hygrobates" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Hygrobates soari" order="Trombidiformes" pageId="8" pageNumber="73" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="soari">Hygrobates soari</taxonomicName>
K. Viets, 1911, a species widspread in the Afrotropical region, reaching in its distribution to northern Oman (

from Baishih River drainage which represented the easternmost record finding of this species.
