The morphological comparison of this species with

is discussed under that species. Colouration is variable within specimens of

. Usually, colouration is black with a paler pleural area, and the wing membrane is almost transparent, tinged with pale yellowish brown. In darker specimens, the pleural area and wing membrane is infuscated. This darker form was described as a separate species,
