Ching ex J.F.Cheng was initially published in "Flora of Jiangxi" as a new species found in two distributed provinces (i.e., Jiangxi and Hubei). The type locality is situated in the Hefeng District from which a single specimen was cited. Additional specimens were cited from Jiangxi Province.
