by the yellow orange ventral surface combined with a prominent postmedian row of connected crescent shaped spots on both wings; on the hindwing, these are proximal to a marginal row of small black spots, the first two and the last one of which are slightly larger. The females are yellow on both wing surfaces but can also be distinguished by the same prominent postmedian band, with the first two marginal spots being larger on the apex of the ventral hindwing.
