These millipedes are flat-backed; the tergites, pleurites and sternites are completely fused into body rings, triangular shaped with extended side wings (paranota). The head is lacking eyes, the tergites are lacking a dorsal suture. The body consists of 18 or 19 rings, the telson carries more or less evident spinnerets (
