is a moderately large genus of 31 species, occurs almost worldwide, but has not been reported from South America or tropical Africa. The subgenus
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Ichneumonidae" genus="Thyraeella" higherTaxonomySource="GBIF" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Thyraeella" order="Hymenoptera" pageId="27" pageNumber="28" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Thyraeella</taxonomicName>
is highly unusual among the other species of the genus: it is mainly defined by the peculiar position of the junction between the hypostomal and occipital carinae, the complete postpectal carina and by having the ventral margin of the clypeus less impressed than in
