The first two of these are seen in other amycoids, but the longer third leg is unique among amycoids and can be considered a synapomorphy. Although it can be reduced or lost in some species, amycines generally have large mastidia on the male chelicerae. Many amycines are translucent, with few scales on the legs. Another common characters is the high clypeus in males.
