This species is almost cosmopolitan and is found throughout

. It is polyphagous but especially breeds on

) with reticulation medially and abdominal tergite VIII with complete posteromarginal comb in female, tergite IX with a pair of CPS, sternites and pleurotergites without discal setae. However, it can be distinguished easily from the other members of this genus by a combination of the following character states: compound eyes with five pigmented ommatidia ventrally (
