deep fissure formed by a piece of rock (probably Kondalite) splitting away from the main body. On one side of the cleft is a huge rock covering the cleft to form the cave roof. Pictorial Stone Age carvings of human and animal figures and tools used by Neolithic man are seen inside the cave. These carvings are said to be as old as 5000-6000 B.
