We tentatively identified the species to be close to
<taxonomicName genus="P." lsidName="P. marginata" pageId="0" pageNumber="119" rank="species" species="marginata">P. marginata</taxonomicName>
Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878. One female was collected from a light trap. We recognized this species as
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Tettigoniidae" genus="Phygela" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Phygela" order="Orthoptera" pageId="0" pageNumber="119" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Phygela</taxonomicName>
owing to the tegmen with Rs and M angled at each cross vein and becoming obliterated in a series of large polygonal cells which occupy the radial field beyond the middle; and presence of a small lateral lobe between the subgenital plate and pileolus (this makes it different from an otherwise similar
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Tettigoniidae" genus="Pseudopsyra" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Pseudopsyra" order="Orthoptera" pageId="0" pageNumber="119" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Pseudopsyra</taxonomicName>
Hebard, 1922). Our specimen appears to differ from the female of
<taxonomicName genus="P." lsidName="P. marginata" pageId="0" pageNumber="119" rank="species" species="marginata">P. marginata</taxonomicName>
from Borneo by a more elongated ovipositor and a stouter subgenital plate, but further examination of the three described species from Southeast Asia is needed to confirm species identity.
