The overall relationships along the backbone of the phylogeny are closely in line with recent phylogenetic hypotheses for

). Further, our hypothesis includes nearly all major lineages of
<taxonomicName box="[366,446,1572,1591]" class="Odonata" kingdom="Animalia" pageId="6" pageNumber="7" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="class">Odonata</taxonomicName>
and is not only the largest molecular phylogeny to date, but the most phylogenetically inclusive hypothesis of
<taxonomicName box="[218,298,1628,1647]" class="Odonata" kingdom="Animalia" pageId="6" pageNumber="7" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="class">Odonata</taxonomicName>
classification. What follows is a more detailed discussion for superfamily or superfamily-level groups across the topology.
