Body length: 8.5–10.0 mm. Head almost holoptic in male dichoptic in female; antennal pedicel with a long seta almost as long as postpedicel; arista long plumose; 0–1 presutural and 0 postsutural acrostichal setae; 2 presutural and 3 postsutural dorsocentral setae; 2 katepisternal setae; second costal sector bare above, haired below; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal setae; hind tibia with 2 preapical dorsal setae; abdomen with thin, bluish-gray pruinosity on entire dorsum; male 5th abdominal sternite angulated but not pointed at postero-interior corner of posterior lobe.

Head holoptic; arista long plumose, total width including plumosity wider than postpedicel; palpus dark brown to black; 0–1 presutural and 0 postsutural acrostichal seta; 2 presutural and 3 postsutural dorsocentral setae; 2 postsutural intra-alar setae, anterior seta very fine; 2 postsutural supra-alar setae, posterior seta absent; 2 katepisternal setae; costa bare above except 1st costal sector, haired below; basal scutellar setae slightly longer than scutellum; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal setae; hind tibia with 2 preapical dorsal setae; claws and pulvilli long; abdomen with thin, bluish-gray-white pruinosity; abdominal syntergite 1+2 without discal setae, 3rd to 5th tergites without lateral discal setae; 5th sternite with posterior lobe angulated but not pointed on postero-interior corner.

: Sixth tergite entire; surstylus broad, weakly narrowed at apical 1/4 to a truncated apex, with rather long hairs; cerci in dorsal view narrowed on basal 1/3, parallel-sided to apical 1/4, then narrowed to apex, narrowly separated along apical 1/3, without a mid-dorsal suture along basal 1/3, in lateral view only weakly curved ventrally along apical 1/4, apex weakly flexed; pregonite flat; postgonite not extending beyond apex of epiphallus; epiphallus long, about 1/2 as long as basiphallus; dorsal sclerite of distiphallus flat, distal membranous portion about 2/3 as long as dorsal sclerite.

Head rounded, dichoptic, occiput well bulged; vertex about 0.28 of head width; outer vertical seta about 1/2 as long as inner vertical seta; prevertical seta outwardly-directed, as long as outer vertical seta; ocellar setae slightly shorter than prevertical seta; 2 proclinate orbital setae, anterior seta stronger, about 2/3 as long as inner vertical seta; fronto-orbital plate with 2–3 rows of rather sparse, fine, short hairs; parafacial narrowed below, about twice as wide as postpedicel at mid height, with 1–2 rows of fine, short, sparse hairs; gena about 1/3 of eye height; genal dilation absent; base of antenna nearly level with lower 1/3 of eye height; pedicel with 2 long setae distinctly longer than postpedicel; arista long plumose, total width including plumosity slightly wider than postpedicel. Thorax with thin, pale bluish-gray pruinosity, 3 narrow median vittae fused anteriorly, 2 broad lateral vittae visible on presutural area of scutum and a broad median vitta on postsutural scutum. Abdomen with thin, pale bluish-gray pruinosity on entire dorsum; syntergite 1+2 to 5th tergite each with a row of strong marginal setae, 3rd to 5th tergites with a pair of discal setae and without lateral discal setae.

: Sixth tergite entire, concave middorsally on anterior margin, with strong setae marginally; 6th sternite with short hairs on posterior 1/2; 7th tergite narrowly divided into 2 hemitergites, about 1/2 as long as 6th tergite, with a row of marginal setae; 7th sternite as long as 6th, with several hairs on submedian portion and several short marginal setae; 8th hemitergite short, fused with hypoproct on upper posterior portion.

The female was not known when the species was originally described. We found females from
