Head fuscous in centre, whitish laterally; labial palpus whitish with lateral suffusion of fuscous scales, upturned, segment 3 short and pointed, segments 1 and 2 clothed with long scales; antenna pale fuscous. Thorax fuscous. Forewing dark fuscous; a pale antemedian fascia yellowish in dorsal half of wing, edged on outside by an irregular black line; a yellowish oblique curved wedge in disc; a strongly indented postmedian whitish line inwardly edged black; termen orange-yellow preceded by a fine black line, before which there is a white band; a blackish spot at apex; termen with 56 small whitish spots in inner half of cilia, each blackish edged on inside, giving a chequered effect. Hindwing white, irrorate fuscous; a partial subbasal fascia, dark near dorsum becoming obsolete in costal half; a similar larger antemedian fascia, enclosing an obscure yellowish discal spot; subterminal line consisting of an irregular double white line edged on each side and centrally dark fuscous; six blackish terminal eyespots, each with a silver mark above middle; apical area and spaces between eyespots yellowish; a dark fuscous line in terminal cilia. Legs pale fuscous, dark above on fore and middle femur. Abdomen fuscous, paler and edge of each segment.

<paragraph id="8BD536EDFFE4655CFF134506FC11C58C" blockId="32.[151,1437,654,1650]" pageId="32" pageNumber="33">Male genitalia (Fig. 125): Uncus tapered to a broad rounded apex; gnathos 4/5 length of uncus with 34 strong backward pointing teeth towards tip on dorsal surface. Valva divergent and then evenly curved towards apex; a cluster of long setae arising from a base near apex stretching back about one third length of valva. Aedeagus with some sclerotisation towards apex, vesica with a single curved cornutus.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="8BD536EDFFE4655CFF134596FBE3C444" blockId="32.[151,1437,654,1650]" pageId="32" pageNumber="33">Female genitalia (Fig. 164): Ostium wide, half width of abdomen; ductus gradually narrowed and then widened into corpus bursae, signum one sclerotized plate from which a spine arises.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="8BD536EDFFE4655CFF13443AFB71C4F0" blockId="32.[151,1437,654,1650]" pageId="32" pageNumber="33">Diagnosis: Distinguished from other species in the genus by its large size, fuscous coloration and in the male genitalia by the strongly dentate gnathos and specialized setae arising from the apex of the valva.</paragraph>
