. Hitherto, the species was never recorded in the Alps, whereas in Prealps the species was found in Pioverna stream only (long E 9.38, lat N 46.00). It is noteworthy that males of the Pioverna population have the inferior volsella bearing more than two robust bristles. The species inhabits also the following Apennines streams: Nure, Taro, Ceno, and Sangro (
