Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, convex and cream colored after 4 days on TSA at 30°C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and
<emphasis id="B95CEAF29F6714496CA74A62FE3DFA6B" box="[425,440,1387,1411]" italics="true" pageId="8" pageNumber="33">β</emphasis>
-galactosidase, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20NE. Does not utilize
<emphasis id="B95CEAF29F6714496CCE4AC5FE57FA0B" box="[448,466,1484,1507]" italics="true" pageId="8" pageNumber="33">N</emphasis>
-acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, capric acid, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate. Strain C7-7 (= NIBRBAC000498033) has been isolated from a natural cave,
