|
|
<paragraph id="90ADCA33CCFE6539EBEBE2685FE3F5B1" pageId="22" pageNumber="1479" type="mainText">Workers and females: Catagylphis ants with the following diagnostic characters:</paragraph>
|
|
<paragraph id="C96C3B1BB298D90FD764007609780252" pageId="22" pageNumber="1479" type="mainText">1. Petiole nodiform, with the anterior dorsal face plane; in lateral view the dorsal outline is angled (Fig. 8). During locomotion the gaster is bent backwards, forming almost a right or blunt angle between the ventral surface of the gaster and a line spanned between the anteriormost and posteriormost point of the alitrunk (Fig. 2).</paragraph>
|

2. MPI> 90; third segment of the maxillary palps compressed in cross-section (with the exception of

|
|

Subgenital plate long (SPI> 125); the apex variable, from two distal, lateral processes and a median part which is variable but always present to a truncated apex which is in cross-section a simple plate with the lateral parts bent dorsally (Figs 25-27).</paragraph>
