Shining black. Face with sparse white pollen, concentrated laterally, pollen oriented dorsoventrally except for a small pollen patch oriented differently ventral to frontal prominence, entirely white pilose, tubercle large and without pollen. Lunule narrowly pale above antennal insertions, central black macula distinct with small dorsal pale spot, otherwise color confluent with frons. Frons dull white pollinose, with median oval macula of dull dark pollen, pollen absent on dorsal ⅓ and ventro-lateral ⅓, with shining white pollen in small latero-medial spots, mainly black pilose. Antenna pale, scape with thicker pile, basoflagellomere oval long, entirely pale or with dorsal ½ dark brown. Antennal insertions confluent to distinctly separated. Vertex protuberant, without pollen, with a single median row of black pile ending dorsal to posterior ocelli; ocellar triangle ~2 times its length from posterior eye margin, and ~3 occelli-width from lateral eye margin. Occiput mostly with white pollen, pollen concentrated close to eye margin, dorsal ¼ with brown pollen oriented ventro-dorsally; dorsal ⅓ of occiput with posterior row of long simple black pile and an anterior row with shorter pile, middle 2/4 with posterior row of long scale-like white pile and 23 anterior rows of shorter simple black pile; ventral ¼ with 23 rows of scale-like white pile, anterior rows shorter and some of sometimes black.

Scutellum black, black pilose, subscutellar fringe pile black. Pleuron mostly black, except posterior anepimeron pale; pleuron mostly white pilose except black pilose on anterior anepisternum, dorso-posterior of the posterior anepisternum and a few black pile dorsally on the anterior anepimeron. Calypter yellow, dorsal lobe darker, fringe and pile black. Plumula dark brown. Halter dark yellow, capitulum brown.

Proleg light brown, protibia to apical tarsomere dark brown to black. Mesoleg dark brown, mesotarsus black. Metaleg black, sometimes metacoxa, metatrochanter and basal ½ of metafemur light brown, metabasitarsomere swollen; pile on dorsal and ventral margin of metatibia slightly longer and thicker.

Dark brown; 4 times as long as thorax. First tergite pale on apical margin, black pilose with a few white pile baso-laterally. Second tergite rectangular, slightly inflated on apical ½, length 1.7 times minimum width, with subapical fascia of dull light brown pollen, and mainly with appressed black pile except white on baso-lateral ½. Third tergite rectangular and long, slightly narrowing towards apex, length 1.3 times minimum width, and with inconspicuous short pair of vittae medially; 3rd tergite with central triangular region of dull light brown pollen, except sub-shining on the pair of pale vittae, and with appressed black pile. Fourth tergite rectangular and long, length 2 times minimum width, dark brown with medial short pale vittae, and densely covered with minute white pile. Fifth tergite rectangular and long, length 1.4 times minimum width, dark brown; remaining characteristics as on 4th. Sixth segment conical short, 1.8 times shorter than 5th, dark brown.

7th tergite rectangular, wide and short; 7th segment lateral sclerite rectangular narrow, connected basodorsally to 7th tergite by sclerotized stripe, without baso-ventral extensions. Eighth tergite unsclerotized medially but with narrow sub-basal sclerotized bridge, basal crest weak; 8th sternite reduce to lateral pair of rectangular sclerites. Tenth tergite reduced to a narrow transverse strip, fused to cercus by apico-lateral extensions. Cercus with 1 row of pile on apical margin.

The 4th abdominal segment is completely yellow on the
<typeStatus id="4E0875B100701274FC21FEF1D092EC4D" box="[968,1016,336,360]" pageId="60" pageNumber="61">type</typeStatus>
specimen, but this colouration seems to be caused by the high concentration of fat and/or eggs in that segment (that can be seen through the body wall). Colouration of abdominal tergites is sometimes hard to determine since it is easily affected by internal organ decomposition, which creates smear patterns on the internal wall.
