The new species is probably a strict endemic of the central part of the South Chinese floristic province as circumscribed by Averyanov

(2003). It was discovered in

near the Chinese border, hence it may be also found in similar limestone areas of Yunnan and Guangxi.

No more samples of this species were detected in the area during additional floristic explorations.
