reported what appears to be an undescribed
<taxonomicName class="Malacostraca" family="Cymothoidae" genus="Pleopodias" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Pleopodias" order="Isopoda" pageId="5" pageNumber="26" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Pleopodias</taxonomicName>
species; however, the Australian specimen is crushed and the whereabouts of
<normalizedToken originalValue="Barnards">Barnard's</normalizedToken>
specimen is unknown. This species differs from
<taxonomicName lsidName="P. elongatus" pageId="5" pageNumber="26" rank="species" species="elongatus">P. elongatus</taxonomicName>
(which it was originally identified as by Barnard) in having a sub-truncate and very narrow pleotelson, uropods which extend to the posterior margin of the pleotelson, antennula bases contiguous, a shorter rostrum, larger eyes, and a less laterally rounded pereonite 7. A tentative description of the Australian specimen was provided by
