Shrubs to trees 1.5-10 m tall with tetragonal to terete stem which are densely tomentose with sessile stellate hairs; the nodal line present yet slight. Leaves of a pair equal to subequal in length. Petioles 0.5-6 cm long. Leaves 5.7-21.5
