<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">The male imago can be distinguished from known species of the genus by the following combination of characters: superior volsella hook-like, apex obtuse, with 78 dorsal setae and 4 long basal setae; median volsella absent; absence of pigment marks in wing; acrostichals 23.</paragraph>

<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">Description.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">Male imago (n = 3). Total length 5.756.05 mm. Wing length 3.383.48 mm. Total length/wing length 1.651.79. Wing length/length of profemur 2.253.71.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">Coloration. Head yellow. Thorax greenish yellow with scutum and postnotum brown. Abdomen greenish yellow, Abdominal tergites IVI pale green, tergites VIIIX and hypopygium brown. Legs: apical 1/3 of fore femur, basal 1/2 of fore tibia and apical 1/10 of tibiae brown; remaining parts greenish yellow.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">Head.AR 1.822.48. Temporal setae 1619 including 68 inner verticals, 610 outer verticals, and 23 postorbitals. Clypeus with 3738 setae. Tentorium 205240 mm long, 5570 mm wide. Palpomere lengths (in mm): 6065, 6373, 310330, 330350, 460480. L: 5th/3rd 1.391.54.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="4" pageNumber="84">Wing(Fig. 2). VR 1.071.13. B with 4 setae; R with 2728, R1 with 2432, R4+5 with 3149 setae. Squama with 1820 setae.</paragraph>

<paragraph pageId="5" pageNumber="85">Legs(Fig. 3). Distal half of front femur with 2325 proximally directed setae in 2 rows, 180200 mm long. Spur on median tibiae 2533 mm long including 2830 mm long comb, unspurred comb 2533 mm long; spur on posterior tibia 3340 mm long including 2533 mm long comb, unspurred comb 2830 mm long. Width at apex of front tibia 8087 mm, of middle tibia 8385 mm, of hind tibia 9095 mm. Lengths (in mm) and proportions of legs in Table 1.</paragraph>

(Figs 45). Anal point 7890 mm long, parallel-sided, slender, apex rounded. Tergite IX with 69 long setae medially and 2236 setae along posterior margin. Phallapodeme 90113 mm long; transverse sternapodeme 5070 mm long. Gonocoxite 223238 mm long. Superior volsella 105125 mm long, hook-like, apex obtuse, with 710 dorsal setae and 4 long basal setae. Inferior volsella digitiform, 110140 mm long, narrowed in apical 1/2, with 2932 setae. Gonostylus 143148 mm long, with 910 setae along inner margin in distal 1/2. HR 1.511.64, HV 4.084.32.

The new species is also similar to

(Meigen, 1818). The superior volsella of

(Meigen) has a basal expansion bearing more than 5 long setae mesally, but the superior volsella of

sp.n. is not expanded basally, with 4 long basal setae separated from each other.
