This species seems to share some similarities with

</taxonomicName>
, and both species are differentiated in comments under the latter. Apparently it is the only species within

where the body is mostly dark brown and the lateral head setae similar to the PO setae in being thick and capitate. However, in one observed specimen from the type series, the head lateral setae are not as developed (
