). Research has provided evidence that the main antidiabetic effect of the aqueous extract is due to intestinal a-glucosidase inhibition by decreasing the postprandial hyper-glycaemia peak. Additionally, the aqueous extract sub-chronic administration was found to reduce triglycerides and cholesterol without modifying fasting glucose (
