is reported from nine specimens form two localities in Cape Breton County and Inverness County (samples C53, I71).

These beetles were generally collected from small pools where the water is cool, such as small pools in bogs or habitats where the water is densely shaded by

In North America this Holarctic species occurs in the boreal zone from western Newfoundland to Alaska (

). Prior to this study, this species had only been reported from the neighboring province New Brunswick in the Maritime Ecozone (
