<paragraph id="AC428C1E59AEE7A70F2D87F6ED663390" pageNumber="101">Worker.-Length 9 to 12 mm. Differing from the typical form in its darker color. The abdomen is black, the head and thorax deep castaneous, almost black, with the bases of the mandibles, lower surface of the head and concavities of its upper surface, mesopleurae, legs, and antennae somewhat paler and more reddish; in some specimens the tibiae are still paler.</paragraph>

Female (dealated).-Length nearly 15 mm. Darker than the worker, black, with the legs and antennae dark brown. Mandibles smoother and more shining than in the worker. The transverse rugae on the pronotum and the longitudinal ruga' on the mesonotum much coarser than in O.
|

<paragraph id="A4DC2C99442F58609B20A1DD2970FA78" lastPageNumber="102" pageNumber="101">Described from nine workers from Faradje (type locality) andnumerous others from Yakuluku, Stanleyville, Bafwasende (Lang and Chapin), and Thysville (J. Bequaert). In addition to these, there are thirty workers and one female (the one described above) taken from the stomachs of toads (Bufo polycercus, funereus, and superciliaris) from Medje, Ngayu, Akenge, Boyulu, and Niangara.</paragraph>
