resembles
<taxonomicName lsidName="C. vellereus" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="vellereus">C. vellereus</taxonomicName>
in conidia size and conidiogenous cells. However,
<taxonomicName lsidName="C. obovatus" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="obovatus">C. obovatus</taxonomicName>
is the only species that produces obovoid conidia in this genus. Furthermore, our ITS and multigene phylogeny shows that three isolates of
<taxonomicName lsidName="C. obovatus" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="obovatus">C. obovatus</taxonomicName>
formed a single clade separate from other species (Figure 1), which indicates that
<taxonomicName lsidName="C. obovatus" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="obovatus">C. obovatus</taxonomicName>
is a new species.
