Body length

, dorsal surface blackish without metallic reflection. Eyes weakly prominent. Pronotum cordiform, widest across anterior third, posterior margin distinctly narrower than the anterior one; with separated punctures, distance 1–4 puncture diameters, punctures without setae; surface convex and shining, disc with a pair impressions slightly posteriorly the middle and one not paired anteriorly; lateral margins beaded; posterior corners rounded; prothoracic hypomera with similar punctures as on pronotum and also without visible setation. Elytra elongate with rows of punctures in weak striae, punctures of rows larger than punctures on pronotum, punctures without setae; intervals with a few fine punctures without setae, interval 9 with 4 indistinct setiferous pores, internal intervals feebly convex, external intervals distinctly convex; surface shining. Apex of elytra prolonged. All femora without teeth. Tibiae of both sexes simple, without peculiarities. Apicale of aedeagus triangular with rounded apex (

This large species known from

, Fanjingshan was described in a hardly accessible paper written in the Chinese language (

). The body length was given as 8.0–

. A photograph or drawing of the dorsal view is missing. The drawing of the aedeagus shows an apicale with a knob-like apex, which is quite unusual in the genus and probably based on wrong observation. The authors hope not to fail in assigning the newly collected above-listed specimens from the Dayao Shan to
