Cells are Gram-stain-positive and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex and yellow colored after incubation for 3 days on R2A at 25℃. Positive for β-galactosidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis and cytochrome oxidase. D-Glucose is utilized as a sole carbon source; but not L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol,
<emphasis id="0EA1AA146B7605212BF5F942FB3A9D8D" box="[1225,1243,1700,1723]" italics="true" pageId="1" pageNumber="2">N</emphasis>
-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain BT654 (
<emphasis id="0EA1AA146B7605212CEAF8E5FC0B9C2D" bold="true" box="[982,1002,1795,1819]" pageId="1" pageNumber="2">=</emphasis>
NIBRBAC000506198) was isolated from a soil sample from Wonju-si, Gangwon-do. The Gen Bank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain BT654 is MT993459.
